In honour of Dr. Joy Spence’s 40th Anniversary with J. Wray & Nephew Limited, the 40 Years of Joy philanthropy programme was conceptualized to address several of Jamaica’s social causes. Dr. Spence was asked to identify 40 charities to which J. Wray & Nephew would make donations in her name for an amount to be decided by her. She donated J$7.2M to nine (9) Children’s Homes across Jamaica.
On International Women’s Day 2022, a donation of J$500,000.00 was made to eighteen (18) schools, children’s homes and women’s centers across Jamaica to purchase well needed sanitary items in support of JWN’s ongoing #endperiodpoverty initiative. For Child’s Month, five (5) schools received donations towards their school feeding programmes. Finally, eight (8) institutions received donations towards their Chemistry Labs. The total donations amounted to J$20,000,000.00
