The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted Jamaica’s health sector resulting in a depletion of well needed resources. Our hospitals have now become overcrowded and understaffed and are struggling to meet the demands for patient care. In response to multiple requests for assistance from Hospitals and Health Centres across the island, JWN launched the #JWNCares initiative which saw the contribution of J$45,000,000.00 to twelve (12) institutions across Jamaica through the Corporate and White Overproof Rum Brands and the JWN Foundation. Each hospital was able to access its allocated funding in supplies from an approved local medical supplies provider. This will serve approximately 700,000 beneficiaries.

The JWN Foundation distributed hand sanitizers, oxygen concentrators, oximeters and water in August 2021 to a value of J$6,192,320.00 and cash donations of an additional $5,000,000.00 to clinics and health centres in Kingston, Clarendon & St. Elizabeth to reach 1,059,750 persons.

The post #JWNCares Health Sector Support first appeared on The JWN Foundation.
